Swapping Bitcoin for Toncoin: what you need to know
Exchanging BTC for TON is useful when you rebalance a portfolio or want to move from one network to another without buying stablecoins in between. At ROVEN exchange the coins are swapped directly, and the rate is locked when you create the order.
Bitcoin (BTC) is the first and largest cryptocurrency, with a capped supply of 21 million coins. Toncoin (TON) is the coin of the TON blockchain, closely tied to Telegram and its built-in wallet.
Why swap BTC for TON
Shifting between BTC and TON is a normal part of managing a portfolio: you change your exposure without cashing out to fiat. With TON you get access to the apps, staking and tokens of the TON network.
Networks and addresses
| You send BTC | You receive TON | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Bitcoin | TON |
| Address | “bc1…”, “1…” or “3…” | “UQ…” or “EQ…” |
| Network speed | a block comes roughly every 10 minutes | a transfer confirms in a few seconds |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Only for an exchange address |
What to watch out for
- When sending BTC, set a normal network fee: with a low fee the transfer can get stuck for hours.
- A TON address starts with “UQ” or “EQ”; Tonkeeper or the wallet in Telegram both work.
- If you’re receiving TON to an exchange address, be sure to enter that exchange’s memo.
- The rate is locked for 30 minutes: send BTC within that time and you’ll receive exactly the amount shown in the order.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Bitcoin, a block comes roughly every 10 minutes; on TON, a transfer confirms in a few seconds. The whole BTC to TON swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
Right now ROVEN exchange swaps BTC for TON at 1 BTC = 50 787.14 TON, with a minimum of 0.000625 BTC. Fill in the form above: no sign-up is needed, and you can track the order status online.
