Swapping USD Coin for USD Coin: what you need to know
USDC tokens on different networks are different tokens, and you can’t send them from Tron (TRC20) to Ethereum (ERC20) directly. ROVEN exchange solves this: you send USDC TRC20 and receive USDC ERC20 at the address you need.
USDC TRC20 is the Tron version of the USDC stablecoin; since 2024 Circle no longer issues new tokens on this network. USDC ERC20 is Circle’s regulated stablecoin on Ethereum, with reserves attested monthly.
Why swap USDC TRC20 for USDC ERC20
Networks differ in fees and speed: on one a transfer costs cents, on another it can cost several dollars. Switching networks lets you send funds where they’ll be accepted. USDC is convenient for settlements, storage and moving funds between platforms.
Networks and addresses
| You send USDC TRC20 | You receive USDC ERC20 | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Tron (TRC20) | Ethereum (ERC20) |
| Address | “T” + 33 characters | “0x” + 40 characters |
| Network speed | a block comes every 3 seconds | a block comes every 12 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Send USDC on TRC20 specifically and check that it’s Circle’s official contract.
- USDC ERC20 arrives at a “0x…” address; keep a little ETH in the wallet for future transfers.
- To send USDC your wallet needs some TRX to pay the network fee.
- Send the exact amount from the order and do it within 30 minutes, while the locked rate is valid.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Tron (TRC20), a block comes every 3 seconds; on Ethereum (ERC20), a block comes every 12 seconds. The whole USDC TRC20 to USDC ERC20 swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
The current rate is 1 USDC = 1.05 USDC and the minimum amount is 20 USDC. Create an order in the form above, and ROVEN exchange will send swap updates by email or Telegram.
