Swapping Bitcoin Cash for Cardano: what you need to know
To switch from Bitcoin Cash to Cardano you don’t need to sell for dollars first and then buy again. ROVEN exchange does it in one step: one order, one rate, one payout.
Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is a 2017 fork of Bitcoin with bigger blocks and fees of a fraction of a cent. Cardano (ADA) is a blockchain with a research-driven approach and staking that doesn’t lock your coins.
Why swap BCH for ADA
Coins serve different purposes, and sometimes holding ADA makes more sense — for faster transfers, staking or the Cardano ecosystem. With ADA you get access to the apps, staking and tokens of the Cardano network.
Networks and addresses
| You send BCH | You receive ADA | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Bitcoin Cash | Cardano |
| Address | “q…” or “bitcoincash:q…” | “addr1…” |
| Network speed | a block comes roughly every 10 minutes | a block comes roughly every 20 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Don’t send BCH from a Bitcoin wallet or vice versa — they’re different networks.
- A Cardano address starts with “addr1”; it’s best to avoid legacy Byron addresses.
- Send the exact amount from the order and do it within 30 minutes, while the locked rate is valid.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Bitcoin Cash, a block comes roughly every 10 minutes; on Cardano, a block comes roughly every 20 seconds. The whole BCH to ADA swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
The current rate is 1 BCH = 1 570.66 ADA and the minimum amount is 0.066667 BCH. Create an order in the form above, and ROVEN exchange will send swap updates by email or Telegram.
