How to exchange ETH for ADA safely and at a good rate
Exchanging ETH for ADA is useful when you rebalance a portfolio or want to move from one network to another without buying stablecoins in between. At ROVEN exchange the coins are swapped directly, and the rate is locked when you create the order.
Ethereum (ETH) is the leading platform for smart contracts, DeFi and ERC20 tokens. Cardano (ADA) is a blockchain with a research-driven approach and staking that doesn’t lock your coins.
Why swap ETH for ADA
Shifting between ETH and ADA is a normal part of managing a portfolio: you change your exposure without cashing out to fiat. With ADA you get access to the apps, staking and tokens of the Cardano network.
Networks and addresses
| You send ETH | You receive ADA | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Ethereum (ERC20) | Cardano |
| Address | “0x” + 40 characters | “addr1…” |
| Network speed | a block comes every 12 seconds | a block comes roughly every 20 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Send ETH on Ethereum mainnet, not on Arbitrum, Base or other layer-2 networks.
- A Cardano address starts with “addr1”; it’s best to avoid legacy Byron addresses.
- The rate is locked for 30 minutes: send ETH within that time and you’ll receive exactly the amount shown in the order.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Ethereum (ERC20), a block comes every 12 seconds; on Cardano, a block comes roughly every 20 seconds. The whole ETH to ADA swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
Right now ROVEN exchange swaps ETH for ADA at 1 ETH = 12 144.44 ADA, with a minimum of 0.02 ETH. Fill in the form above: no sign-up is needed, and you can track the order status online.
