Swapping Shiba Inu for Cosmos Hub: what you need to know
Exchanging SHIB ERC20 for ATOM is useful when you rebalance a portfolio or want to move from one network to another without buying stablecoins in between. At ROVEN exchange the coins are swapped directly, and the rate is locked when you create the order.
Shiba Inu (SHIB) is a popular ERC20 meme token on Ethereum with an enormous supply. Cosmos (ATOM) is the coin of the Cosmos Hub, the centre of an ecosystem of interconnected blockchains.
Why swap SHIB ERC20 for ATOM
Shifting between SHIB and ATOM is a normal part of managing a portfolio: you change your exposure without cashing out to fiat. With ATOM you get access to the apps, staking and tokens of the Cosmos Hub network.
Networks and addresses
| You send SHIB ERC20 | You receive ATOM | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Ethereum (ERC20) | Cosmos Hub |
| Address | “0x” + 40 characters | “cosmos1…” |
| Network speed | a block comes every 12 seconds | a block comes every 6 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Only for an exchange address |
What to watch out for
- Send SHIB on Ethereum, not from Shibarium or BNB Smart Chain, and double-check the number of zeros.
- The address must start with “cosmos1”, not the prefix of another Cosmos network.
- If you’re receiving ATOM to an exchange address, be sure to enter that exchange’s memo.
- To send SHIB your wallet needs some ETH to pay the network fee.
- The rate is locked for 30 minutes: send SHIB within that time and you’ll receive exactly the amount shown in the order.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Ethereum (ERC20), a block comes every 12 seconds; on Cosmos Hub, a block comes every 6 seconds. The whole SHIB ERC20 to ATOM swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
Right now ROVEN exchange swaps SHIB ERC20 for ATOM at 1 ATOM = 309 373.43 SHIB, with a minimum of 10 000 000 SHIB. Fill in the form above: no sign-up is needed, and you can track the order status online.
