How to exchange LTC for ATOM safely and at a good rate
To switch from Litecoin to Cosmos Hub you don’t need to sell for dollars first and then buy again. ROVEN exchange does it in one step: one order, one rate, one payout.
Litecoin (LTC) is one of the oldest Bitcoin forks, with blocks four times faster and low fees. Cosmos (ATOM) is the coin of the Cosmos Hub, the centre of an ecosystem of interconnected blockchains.
Why swap LTC for ATOM
Coins serve different purposes, and sometimes holding ATOM makes more sense — for faster transfers, staking or the Cosmos Hub ecosystem. With ATOM you get access to the apps, staking and tokens of the Cosmos Hub network.
Networks and addresses
| You send LTC | You receive ATOM | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Litecoin | Cosmos Hub |
| Address | “ltc1…”, “L…” or “M…” | “cosmos1…” |
| Network speed | a block comes roughly every 2.5 minutes | a block comes every 6 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Only for an exchange address |
What to watch out for
- Send LTC on the Litecoin network only and allow time for confirmations.
- The address must start with “cosmos1”, not the prefix of another Cosmos network.
- If you’re receiving ATOM to an exchange address, be sure to enter that exchange’s memo.
- Send the exact amount from the order and do it within 30 minutes, while the locked rate is valid.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Litecoin, a block comes roughly every 2.5 minutes; on Cosmos Hub, a block comes every 6 seconds. The whole LTC to ATOM swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
The current rate is 1 LTC = 37.530908 ATOM and the minimum amount is 0.25 LTC. Create an order in the form above, and ROVEN exchange will send swap updates by email or Telegram.
