Swapping USD Coin for Polkadot: what you need to know
If you hold USDC TRC20 and want Polkadot, you don’t need an exchange account. At ROVEN exchange the swap takes a few minutes: you see the final amount in advance, and an operator checks every order by hand.
USDC TRC20 is the Tron version of the USDC stablecoin; since 2024 Circle no longer issues new tokens on this network. Polkadot (DOT) is Gavin Wood’s network that unites many parachain blockchains under shared security.
Why swap USDC TRC20 for DOT
A stablecoin is a handy way to hold dollars, but to benefit from market growth or use the Polkadot network you need DOT itself. With DOT you get access to the apps, staking and tokens of the Polkadot network.
Networks and addresses
| You send USDC TRC20 | You receive DOT | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Tron (TRC20) | Polkadot |
| Address | “T” + 33 characters | starts with “1” |
| Network speed | a block comes every 3 seconds | a block comes every 6 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Send USDC on TRC20 specifically and check that it’s Circle’s official contract.
- A new Polkadot address must receive at least 1 DOT, the account’s minimum balance.
- To send USDC your wallet needs some TRX to pay the network fee.
- Send the exact amount from the order and do it within 30 minutes, while the locked rate is valid.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Tron (TRC20), a block comes every 3 seconds; on Polkadot, a block comes every 6 seconds. The whole USDC TRC20 to DOT swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
The current rate is 1 USDC = 1.076923 DOT and the minimum amount is 20 USDC. Create an order in the form above, and ROVEN exchange will send swap updates by email or Telegram.
