Swapping Cardano for Litecoin: what you need to know
Exchanging ADA for LTC is useful when you rebalance a portfolio or want to move from one network to another without buying stablecoins in between. At ROVEN exchange the coins are swapped directly, and the rate is locked when you create the order.
Cardano (ADA) is a blockchain with a research-driven approach and staking that doesn’t lock your coins. Litecoin (LTC) is one of the oldest Bitcoin forks, with blocks four times faster and low fees.
Why swap ADA for LTC
Shifting between ADA and LTC is a normal part of managing a portfolio: you change your exposure without cashing out to fiat. Litecoin was built for fast, cheap transfers, which makes it handy for payments.
Networks and addresses
| You send ADA | You receive LTC | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Cardano | Litecoin |
| Address | “addr1…” | “ltc1…”, “L…” or “M…” |
| Network speed | a block comes roughly every 20 seconds | a block comes roughly every 2.5 minutes |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Delegated ADA can be sent right away: staking on Cardano doesn’t lock coins.
- A Litecoin address starts with “ltc1”, “L” or “M”; it’s best to avoid legacy “3…” addresses.
- The rate is locked for 30 minutes: send ADA within that time and you’ll receive exactly the amount shown in the order.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Cardano, a block comes roughly every 20 seconds; on Litecoin, a block comes roughly every 2.5 minutes. The whole ADA to LTC swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
Right now ROVEN exchange swaps ADA for LTC at 1 LTC = 271.423677 ADA, with a minimum of 100 ADA. Fill in the form above: no sign-up is needed, and you can track the order status online.
