Swapping Cosmos Hub for Tron: what you need to know
Exchanging ATOM for TRX is useful when you rebalance a portfolio or want to move from one network to another without buying stablecoins in between. At ROVEN exchange the coins are swapped directly, and the rate is locked when you create the order.
Cosmos (ATOM) is the coin of the Cosmos Hub, the centre of an ecosystem of interconnected blockchains. Tron (TRX) is the coin of the Tron network, which carries most of the world’s USDT transfers.
Why swap ATOM for TRX
Shifting between ATOM and TRX is a normal part of managing a portfolio: you change your exposure without cashing out to fiat. With TRX you get access to the apps, staking and tokens of the Tron network.
Networks and addresses
| You send ATOM | You receive TRX | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Cosmos Hub | Tron |
| Address | “cosmos1…” | “T” + 33 characters |
| Network speed | a block comes every 6 seconds | a block comes every 3 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Required, from the order | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- When sending ATOM, paste the memo from the order; staked coins take 21 days to unbond.
- TRX arrives at a “T…” address; the same coins later pay the fees for USDT TRC20.
- When sending ATOM, include the memo from the order, or the payment will have to be traced manually.
- The rate is locked for 30 minutes: send ATOM within that time and you’ll receive exactly the amount shown in the order.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Cosmos Hub, a block comes every 6 seconds; on Tron, a block comes every 3 seconds. The whole ATOM to TRX swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
Right now ROVEN exchange swaps ATOM for TRX at 1 ATOM = 4.969637 TRX, with a minimum of 12.5 ATOM. Fill in the form above: no sign-up is needed, and you can track the order status online.
