Swapping Solana for Cardano: what you need to know
To switch from Solana to Cardano you don’t need to sell for dollars first and then buy again. ROVEN exchange does it in one step: one order, one rate, one payout.
Solana (SOL) is a high-speed blockchain with sub-cent fees, popular in DeFi and NFTs. Cardano (ADA) is a blockchain with a research-driven approach and staking that doesn’t lock your coins.
Why swap SOL for ADA
Coins serve different purposes, and sometimes holding ADA makes more sense — for faster transfers, staking or the Cardano ecosystem. With ADA you get access to the apps, staking and tokens of the Cardano network.
Networks and addresses
| You send SOL | You receive ADA | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Solana | Cardano |
| Address | 32–44 base58 characters | “addr1…” |
| Network speed | a transfer confirms in a few seconds | a block comes roughly every 20 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Send SOL on Solana mainnet, not wrapped SOL on other blockchains.
- A Cardano address starts with “addr1”; it’s best to avoid legacy Byron addresses.
- Send the exact amount from the order and do it within 30 minutes, while the locked rate is valid.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Solana, a transfer confirms in a few seconds; on Cardano, a block comes roughly every 20 seconds. The whole SOL to ADA swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
The current rate is 1 SOL = 516.645866 ADA and the minimum amount is 0.2 SOL. Create an order in the form above, and ROVEN exchange will send swap updates by email or Telegram.
