Swapping Stellar for Litecoin: what you need to know
To switch from Stellar to Litecoin you don’t need to sell for dollars first and then buy again. ROVEN exchange does it in one step: one order, one rate, one payout.
Stellar (XLM) is a network for international payments and tokenised currencies with sub-cent fees. Litecoin (LTC) is one of the oldest Bitcoin forks, with blocks four times faster and low fees.
Why swap XLM for LTC
Coins serve different purposes, and sometimes holding LTC makes more sense — for faster transfers, staking or the Litecoin ecosystem. Litecoin was built for fast, cheap transfers, which makes it handy for payments.
Networks and addresses
| You send XLM | You receive LTC | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Stellar | Litecoin |
| Address | “G…”, 56 characters | “ltc1…”, “L…” or “M…” |
| Network speed | a transfer confirms in 5–6 seconds | a block comes roughly every 2.5 minutes |
| Memo / tag | Required, from the order | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- When sending XLM, paste the memo from the order — that’s how the payment is matched automatically.
- A Litecoin address starts with “ltc1”, “L” or “M”; it’s best to avoid legacy “3…” addresses.
- When sending XLM, include the memo from the order, or the payment will have to be traced manually.
- Send the exact amount from the order and do it within 30 minutes, while the locked rate is valid.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Stellar, a transfer confirms in 5–6 seconds; on Litecoin, a block comes roughly every 2.5 minutes. The whole XLM to LTC swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
The current rate is 1 LTC = 310.537276 XLM and the minimum amount is 117.647059 XLM. Create an order in the form above, and ROVEN exchange will send swap updates by email or Telegram.
