Swapping Stellar for Tezos: what you need to know
To switch from Stellar to Tezos you don’t need to sell for dollars first and then buy again. ROVEN exchange does it in one step: one order, one rate, one payout.
Stellar (XLM) is a network for international payments and tokenised currencies with sub-cent fees. Tezos (XTZ) is a smart contract blockchain that upgrades through holder votes, without hard forks.
Why swap XLM for XTZ
Coins serve different purposes, and sometimes holding XTZ makes more sense — for faster transfers, staking or the Tezos ecosystem. With XTZ you get access to the apps, staking and tokens of the Tezos network.
Networks and addresses
| You send XLM | You receive XTZ | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Stellar | Tezos |
| Address | “G…”, 56 characters | “tz1…”–“tz4…” |
| Network speed | a transfer confirms in 5–6 seconds | a block comes every few seconds |
| Memo / tag | Required, from the order | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- When sending XLM, paste the memo from the order — that’s how the payment is matched automatically.
- Enter a regular “tz…” address, not a “KT1…” smart contract address.
- When sending XLM, include the memo from the order, or the payment will have to be traced manually.
- Send the exact amount from the order and do it within 30 minutes, while the locked rate is valid.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Stellar, a transfer confirms in 5–6 seconds; on Tezos, a block comes every few seconds. The whole XLM to XTZ swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
The current rate is 1 XLM = 0.690164 XTZ and the minimum amount is 117.647059 XLM. Create an order in the form above, and ROVEN exchange will send swap updates by email or Telegram.
