Swapping Tezos for Zcash: what you need to know
Exchanging XTZ for ZEC is useful when you rebalance a portfolio or want to move from one network to another without buying stablecoins in between. At ROVEN exchange the coins are swapped directly, and the rate is locked when you create the order.
Tezos (XTZ) is a smart contract blockchain that upgrades through holder votes, without hard forks. Zcash (ZEC) is a cryptocurrency with optional privacy based on zero-knowledge proofs.
Why swap XTZ for ZEC
Shifting between XTZ and ZEC is a normal part of managing a portfolio: you change your exposure without cashing out to fiat. Zcash supports private transfers, but swaps use transparent addresses.
Networks and addresses
| You send XTZ | You receive ZEC | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Tezos | Zcash |
| Address | “tz1…”–“tz4…” | “t1…” or “t3…” |
| Network speed | a block comes every few seconds | a block comes roughly every 75 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Delegated XTZ isn’t locked — you can send it at any time.
- You need a transparent “t1…” or “t3…” address; “zs…” and “u1…” addresses won’t work.
- The rate is locked for 30 minutes: send XTZ within that time and you’ll receive exactly the amount shown in the order.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Tezos, a block comes every few seconds; on Zcash, a block comes roughly every 75 seconds. The whole XTZ to ZEC swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
Right now ROVEN exchange swaps XTZ for ZEC at 1 ZEC = 4 586.32 XTZ, with a minimum of 71.428571 XTZ. Fill in the form above: no sign-up is needed, and you can track the order status online.
