How to exchange ADA for DOT safely and at a good rate
To switch from Cardano to Polkadot you don’t need to sell for dollars first and then buy again. ROVEN exchange does it in one step: one order, one rate, one payout.
Cardano (ADA) is a blockchain with a research-driven approach and staking that doesn’t lock your coins. Polkadot (DOT) is Gavin Wood’s network that unites many parachain blockchains under shared security.
Why swap ADA for DOT
Coins serve different purposes, and sometimes holding DOT makes more sense — for faster transfers, staking or the Polkadot ecosystem. With DOT you get access to the apps, staking and tokens of the Polkadot network.
Networks and addresses
| You send ADA | You receive DOT | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Cardano | Polkadot |
| Address | “addr1…” | starts with “1” |
| Network speed | a block comes roughly every 20 seconds | a block comes every 6 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Delegated ADA can be sent right away: staking on Cardano doesn’t lock coins.
- A new Polkadot address must receive at least 1 DOT, the account’s minimum balance.
- Send the exact amount from the order and do it within 30 minutes, while the locked rate is valid.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Cardano, a block comes roughly every 20 seconds; on Polkadot, a block comes every 6 seconds. The whole ADA to DOT swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
The current rate is 1 ADA = 0.20935185 DOT and the minimum amount is 100 ADA. Create an order in the form above, and ROVEN exchange will send swap updates by email or Telegram.
