Swapping Cardano for Polygon: what you need to know
To switch from Cardano to Polygon you don’t need to sell for dollars first and then buy again. ROVEN exchange does it in one step: one order, one rate, one payout.
Cardano (ADA) is a blockchain with a research-driven approach and staking that doesn’t lock your coins. POL (formerly MATIC) is the coin of Polygon PoS, an Ethereum-compatible network with fees in cents.
Why swap ADA for POL
Coins serve different purposes, and sometimes holding POL makes more sense — for faster transfers, staking or the Polygon PoS ecosystem. With POL you get access to the apps, staking and tokens of the Polygon PoS network.
Networks and addresses
| You send ADA | You receive POL | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Cardano | Polygon PoS |
| Address | “addr1…” | “0x” + 40 characters |
| Network speed | a block comes roughly every 20 seconds | a block comes every 2 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Delegated ADA can be sent right away: staking on Cardano doesn’t lock coins.
- A Polygon address is the same as an Ethereum one; select the Polygon network in your wallet to see POL.
- Send the exact amount from the order and do it within 30 minutes, while the locked rate is valid.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Cardano, a block comes roughly every 20 seconds; on Polygon PoS, a block comes every 2 seconds. The whole ADA to POL swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
The current rate is 1 ADA = 2.177145 POL and the minimum amount is 100 ADA. Create an order in the form above, and ROVEN exchange will send swap updates by email or Telegram.
