Swapping Cardano for Zcash: what you need to know
Exchanging ADA for ZEC is useful when you rebalance a portfolio or want to move from one network to another without buying stablecoins in between. At ROVEN exchange the coins are swapped directly, and the rate is locked when you create the order.
Cardano (ADA) is a blockchain with a research-driven approach and staking that doesn’t lock your coins. Zcash (ZEC) is a cryptocurrency with optional privacy based on zero-knowledge proofs.
Why swap ADA for ZEC
Shifting between ADA and ZEC is a normal part of managing a portfolio: you change your exposure without cashing out to fiat. Zcash supports private transfers, but swaps use transparent addresses.
Networks and addresses
| You send ADA | You receive ZEC | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Cardano | Zcash |
| Address | “addr1…” | “t1…” or “t3…” |
| Network speed | a block comes roughly every 20 seconds | a block comes roughly every 75 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Delegated ADA can be sent right away: staking on Cardano doesn’t lock coins.
- You need a transparent “t1…” or “t3…” address; “zs…” and “u1…” addresses won’t work.
- The rate is locked for 30 minutes: send ADA within that time and you’ll receive exactly the amount shown in the order.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Cardano, a block comes roughly every 20 seconds; on Zcash, a block comes roughly every 75 seconds. The whole ADA to ZEC swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
Right now ROVEN exchange swaps ADA for ZEC at 1 ZEC = 6 270.3 ADA, with a minimum of 100 ADA. Fill in the form above: no sign-up is needed, and you can track the order status online.
