How to exchange LTC for BTC safely and at a good rate
Exchanging LTC for BTC is useful when you rebalance a portfolio or want to move from one network to another without buying stablecoins in between. At ROVEN exchange the coins are swapped directly, and the rate is locked when you create the order.
Litecoin (LTC) is one of the oldest Bitcoin forks, with blocks four times faster and low fees. Bitcoin (BTC) is the first and largest cryptocurrency, with a capped supply of 21 million coins.
Why swap LTC for BTC
Shifting between LTC and BTC is a normal part of managing a portfolio: you change your exposure without cashing out to fiat. Bitcoin is most often bought for long-term holding as “digital gold”.
Networks and addresses
| You send LTC | You receive BTC | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Litecoin | Bitcoin |
| Address | “ltc1…”, “L…” or “M…” | “bc1…”, “1…” or “3…” |
| Network speed | a block comes roughly every 2.5 minutes | a block comes roughly every 10 minutes |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Send LTC on the Litecoin network only and allow time for confirmations.
- A Bitcoin address starts with “bc1”, “1” or “3” — don’t confuse it with a Bitcoin Cash address.
- The rate is locked for 30 minutes: send LTC within that time and you’ll receive exactly the amount shown in the order.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Litecoin, a block comes roughly every 2.5 minutes; on Bitcoin, a block comes roughly every 10 minutes. The whole LTC to BTC swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
Right now ROVEN exchange swaps LTC for BTC at 1 BTC = 1 321.54 LTC, with a minimum of 0.25 LTC. Fill in the form above: no sign-up is needed, and you can track the order status online.
