Swapping Polygon for Zcash: what you need to know
Exchanging POL for ZEC is useful when you rebalance a portfolio or want to move from one network to another without buying stablecoins in between. At ROVEN exchange the coins are swapped directly, and the rate is locked when you create the order.
POL (formerly MATIC) is the coin of Polygon PoS, an Ethereum-compatible network with fees in cents. Zcash (ZEC) is a cryptocurrency with optional privacy based on zero-knowledge proofs.
Why swap POL for ZEC
Shifting between POL and ZEC is a normal part of managing a portfolio: you change your exposure without cashing out to fiat. Zcash supports private transfers, but swaps use transparent addresses.
Networks and addresses
| You send POL | You receive ZEC | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Polygon PoS | Zcash |
| Address | “0x” + 40 characters | “t1…” or “t3…” |
| Network speed | a block comes every 2 seconds | a block comes roughly every 75 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Send POL on Polygon, not POL as an ERC20 token on Ethereum.
- You need a transparent “t1…” or “t3…” address; “zs…” and “u1…” addresses won’t work.
- The rate is locked for 30 minutes: send POL within that time and you’ll receive exactly the amount shown in the order.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Polygon PoS, a block comes every 2 seconds; on Zcash, a block comes roughly every 75 seconds. The whole POL to ZEC swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
Right now ROVEN exchange swaps POL for ZEC at 1 ZEC = 12 580.02 POL, with a minimum of 222.222222 POL. Fill in the form above: no sign-up is needed, and you can track the order status online.
