How to exchange POL for BTC safely and at a good rate
Exchanging POL for BTC is useful when you rebalance a portfolio or want to move from one network to another without buying stablecoins in between. At ROVEN exchange the coins are swapped directly, and the rate is locked when you create the order.
POL (formerly MATIC) is the coin of Polygon PoS, an Ethereum-compatible network with fees in cents. Bitcoin (BTC) is the first and largest cryptocurrency, with a capped supply of 21 million coins.
Why swap POL for BTC
Shifting between POL and BTC is a normal part of managing a portfolio: you change your exposure without cashing out to fiat. Bitcoin is most often bought for long-term holding as “digital gold”.
Networks and addresses
| You send POL | You receive BTC | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Polygon PoS | Bitcoin |
| Address | “0x” + 40 characters | “bc1…”, “1…” or “3…” |
| Network speed | a block comes every 2 seconds | a block comes roughly every 10 minutes |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Send POL on Polygon, not POL as an ERC20 token on Ethereum.
- A Bitcoin address starts with “bc1”, “1” or “3” — don’t confuse it with a Bitcoin Cash address.
- The rate is locked for 30 minutes: send POL within that time and you’ll receive exactly the amount shown in the order.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Polygon PoS, a block comes every 2 seconds; on Bitcoin, a block comes roughly every 10 minutes. The whole POL to BTC swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
Right now ROVEN exchange swaps POL for BTC at 1 BTC = 784 270.07 POL, with a minimum of 222.222222 POL. Fill in the form above: no sign-up is needed, and you can track the order status online.
