How to exchange XLM for POL safely and at a good rate
Exchanging XLM for POL is useful when you rebalance a portfolio or want to move from one network to another without buying stablecoins in between. At ROVEN exchange the coins are swapped directly, and the rate is locked when you create the order.
Stellar (XLM) is a network for international payments and tokenised currencies with sub-cent fees. POL (formerly MATIC) is the coin of Polygon PoS, an Ethereum-compatible network with fees in cents.
Why swap XLM for POL
Shifting between XLM and POL is a normal part of managing a portfolio: you change your exposure without cashing out to fiat. With POL you get access to the apps, staking and tokens of the Polygon PoS network.
Networks and addresses
| You send XLM | You receive POL | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Stellar | Polygon PoS |
| Address | “G…”, 56 characters | “0x” + 40 characters |
| Network speed | a transfer confirms in 5–6 seconds | a block comes every 2 seconds |
| Memo / tag | Required, from the order | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- When sending XLM, paste the memo from the order — that’s how the payment is matched automatically.
- A Polygon address is the same as an Ethereum one; select the Polygon network in your wallet to see POL.
- When sending XLM, include the memo from the order, or the payment will have to be traced manually.
- The rate is locked for 30 minutes: send XLM within that time and you’ll receive exactly the amount shown in the order.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Stellar, a transfer confirms in 5–6 seconds; on Polygon PoS, a block comes every 2 seconds. The whole XLM to POL swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
Right now ROVEN exchange swaps XLM for POL at 1 XLM = 1.858378 POL, with a minimum of 117.647059 XLM. Fill in the form above: no sign-up is needed, and you can track the order status online.
