What is USDC TRC20
USDC TRC20 is the version of the USD Coin stablecoin on the TRON network. USD Coin is issued by the US company Circle: each token is pegged to the US dollar and backed by reserves in dollars and short-term bonds. USDC appeared on TRON as a cheaper alternative to the Ethereum version: TRON transfers confirm in about a minute and fees are usually lower.
It’s important to know this version’s status. In February 2024 Circle announced it would stop issuing new USDC on TRON and gradually wound down support for it. Tokens already issued still circulate, but many exchanges and services have stopped accepting USDC TRC20. So before sending, be sure to check that the recipient accepts this particular version, and for long-term holding choose USDC on Ethereum or USDT.

What USDC TRC20 is used for
- Moving leftover tokens into other assets. If you still hold USDC on TRON, it’s convenient to swap it for USDT TRC20 or USDC ERC20.
- Settling with those who still accept this version. Some counterparties continue to work with USDC TRC20.
- Inexpensive transfers within the TRON ecosystem. Fees and speed are the same as for other TRC20 tokens.
How to exchange USDC TRC20 at ROVEN exchange
- Choose a direction, for example USDC TRC20 → USDT TRC20 to move into TRON’s most widely used stablecoin, or USDC TRC20 → USDC ERC20.
- Enter the amount and the receiving address on the right network and create the order — the rate is locked for 30 minutes.
- Send the exact USDC TRC20 amount to the address in the order. Your wallet needs TRX to pay the fee.
- Once the transfer is confirmed, the operator sends the payout and its hash appears on the order page.
What to watch out for
- Before sending USDC TRC20 to an exchange, check that it still accepts this version of the token.
- Sending requires TRX for the fee, as with any TRC20 token.
- Don’t confuse USDC TRC20 with USDT TRC20: they share the address format but are different tokens from different issuers.
- Check the token contract on Tronscan: fake tokens named USDC exist on TRON too.
What USDC TRC20 holders should do
If you hold USDC on TRON, it makes sense to move it into a better-supported format ahead of time. The most popular options are swapping it for USDT TRC20, which is accepted almost everywhere and runs on the same network, or for USDC ERC20 if you specifically want USDC. At ROVEN exchange such a swap runs at close to 1:1, and an operator checks every order.
How to store USDC TRC20
USDC TRC20 can be stored in any TRON-compatible wallet: TronLink, Trust Wallet and others. If the token doesn’t show up, add it manually after checking the contract on Tronscan. Keep a little TRX at the same address for fees.
Frequently asked questions
Is USDC TRC20 worth the same as USDC ERC20?
Both tokens are pegged to the dollar, but USDC TRC20 currently has lower liquidity, so its swap rate may differ slightly from 1:1.
Can I send USDC TRC20 to a USDT TRC20 address?
Technically a TRON address will accept both tokens, but the recipient must be expecting USDC. If they need USDT, swap USDC for USDT first.
