Swapping Polygon for Bitcoin Cash: what you need to know
Exchanging POL for BCH is useful when you rebalance a portfolio or want to move from one network to another without buying stablecoins in between. At ROVEN exchange the coins are swapped directly, and the rate is locked when you create the order.
POL (formerly MATIC) is the coin of Polygon PoS, an Ethereum-compatible network with fees in cents. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is a 2017 fork of Bitcoin with bigger blocks and fees of a fraction of a cent.
Why swap POL for BCH
Shifting between POL and BCH is a normal part of managing a portfolio: you change your exposure without cashing out to fiat. Bitcoin Cash was built for fast, cheap transfers, which makes it handy for payments.
Networks and addresses
| You send POL | You receive BCH | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Polygon PoS | Bitcoin Cash |
| Address | “0x” + 40 characters | “q…” or “bitcoincash:q…” |
| Network speed | a block comes every 2 seconds | a block comes roughly every 10 minutes |
| Memo / tag | Not needed | Not needed |
What to watch out for
- Send POL on Polygon, not POL as an ERC20 token on Ethereum.
- Use a CashAddr address (“q…”) so it can’t be confused with a Bitcoin address.
- The rate is locked for 30 minutes: send POL within that time and you’ll receive exactly the amount shown in the order.
How long the swap takes
Swap speed depends on both networks. On Polygon PoS, a block comes every 2 seconds; on Bitcoin Cash, a block comes roughly every 10 minutes. The whole POL to BCH swap usually takes 5 to 30 minutes once your transfer is confirmed.
Right now ROVEN exchange swaps POL for BCH at 1 BCH = 2 948.7 POL, with a minimum of 222.222222 POL. Fill in the form above: no sign-up is needed, and you can track the order status online.
